With Randstad 380 kV, an electricity network is being developed for the future. This new network is being created between Beverwijk (north of Amsterdam) and Wateringen (Rotterdam). The drillings that Van Leeuwen Sleufloze Technieken is part of the underground connection. A total of 23 HDDs are drilled at 10 locations ranging from 200 to 900 meters in length.
The amount of sustainably generated energy increases. With Randstad 380 kV, ring structures are created in the 380 kV high-voltage grid (just like at more places in the Netherlands). Such rings provide a greater capacity and a higher reliability. Read more about this on the Tennet project website.
